milk house
Farm storage building
A milk house is a small outbuilding on a farm where milk is stored and cooled after milking.
Traditionally built over a spring or equipped with cold water to keep milk fresh before refrigeration, milk houses were standard features of dairy operations.
Modern versions may house refrigeration tanks and milking equipment: The farmer carried the pails to the milk house.
