brush pile
Heap of trimmings
A brush pile is a heap of cut branches, twigs, and other woody debris, typically created during land clearing, pruning, or storm cleanup.
Landowners sometimes maintain brush piles deliberately as wildlife habitat—rabbits, songbirds, and small mammals shelter in them.
We stacked the trimmings into a brush pile at the back of the property.
