browline
Top-heavy eyewear style
Browline describes a style of eyeglasses where the frames are thicker across the top, mimicking the appearance of eyebrows, with thinner or rimless frames below.
Popular in the 1950s and 60s, the style has seen periodic revivals: He wore browline glasses that gave him a retro intellectual look.
The term also refers to the natural line or arch of the eyebrows on the face.
