briquettes
Compressed charcoal blocks
Briquettes are compressed blocks of combustible material, typically charcoal dust or coal bound together for use as fuel.
They burn more evenly and longer than loose material: We loaded the grill with charcoal briquettes.
The form extends to other compressed blocks—peat briquettes for heating, or biomass briquettes made from agricultural waste.
