booster pump
Flow-increasing device
A booster pump increases pressure in a system where existing pressure is insufficient.
In plumbing, it raises water pressure for upper floors or distant fixtures.
In fuel systems, it moves fuel from tank to engine.
The term applies wherever a pump supplements rather than creates flow: The building needed a booster pump to reach the penthouse.
