body feint
Misleading physical gesture
A body feint is a deceptive movement in sports where a player shifts their torso, hips, or shoulders to suggest they're going one direction, then moves another way.
Common in basketball, soccer, and football, the body feint exploits an opponent's tendency to react to upper-body cues: He used a quick body feint to freeze the defender, then drove past him.
