boat hooks

Docking grab tools

A boat hook is a pole with a hook at one end, used to grab ropes, fend off other vessels, or pull a boat toward a dock.

The tool extends a boater's reach for tasks that would otherwise require leaning dangerously over the water: She snagged the mooring line with the boat hook.
