blurt

Say without thinking

Blurt means to say something suddenly and impulsively, usually without thinking first.

The word almost always appears with out: She blurted out the secret before she could stop herself.

What gets blurted is typically something that should have been kept private or at least delivered more carefully—a confession, an insult, an awkward truth.

The spontaneity implied by blurt suggests the speaker immediately regrets the utterance or at least didn't intend to make it.
