blueweed

Hairy blue wildflower

Blueweed is a bristly plant with bright blue flowers, native to Europe but now widespread as a weed in North America.

It grows in dry, disturbed areas—roadsides, fields, pastures—and is considered invasive in many regions.

Also called viper's bugloss.

The hillside was covered in blueweed by midsummer.
