blowoffs
Rude brush-off gestures
Blowoffs are instances of dismissing or ignoring someone, or the people doing the dismissing.
If you text someone repeatedly and get no response, you're getting the blowoff.
The term also has technical meanings: valves that release excess pressure from boilers or tanks, or the material discharged through such valves.
