tiebreakers
Sudden death rounds
Tiebreakers are methods or additional contests used to determine a winner when competitors finish equal.
In tennis, a tiebreaker is a special game played when a set reaches 6-6.
In tournaments and elections, tiebreakers resolve deadlocks through extra rounds, coin flips, or predetermined criteria: The committee used head-to-head record as the first tiebreaker.
