blind spot test
Scotoma detection exam
A blind spot test is a simple visual exercise that reveals the natural gap in each eye's field of vision where the optic nerve connects to the retina.
The test typically involves staring at a fixed point while a mark in your peripheral vision disappears: Close your left eye and focus on the cross—the dot vanishes at about 15 degrees.
Eye doctors use variations to assess visual field health.
