blanket chest
Quilt storage box
A blanket chest is a large storage chest, typically made of wood, used for storing blankets, linens, and textiles.
Also called a hope chest or cedar chest, it traditionally sits at the foot of a bed or along a wall.
Young women historically filled them with household goods in anticipation of marriage: She kept her grandmother's quilts in the blanket chest.
