blagging

Talking your way

Blagging is British slang for obtaining something through persuasion, deception, or sheer nerve.

You might blag your way into a party without an invitation, blag free drinks from the bartender, or blag confidential information by pretending to be someone you're not: He blagged his way past security.

The word suggests cunning resourcefulness rather than outright theft.
