blackjacking

Bludgeoning from behind

Blackjacking is hitting someone with a blackjack—a small, weighted leather club used to knock people unconscious.

The term evokes old-fashioned crime and police violence: He was blackjacked in an alley and robbed.

Figuratively, to blackjack someone is to coerce them through intimidation or unfair pressure: They blackjacked him into signing the contract.
