biblical lands

Scripture's ancient geography

Biblical lands refers to the geographic regions described in the Bible, particularly the area around the eastern Mediterranean—ancient Israel, Palestine, Egypt, Mesopotamia, and surrounding territories.

The term appears most often in religious, historical, and tourism contexts: a pilgrimage to the biblical lands, archaeological discoveries in the biblical lands.

Sometimes used more loosely for anywhere mentioned in scripture.
