beveled glass
Cut at angles
Beveled glass has edges cut at an angle rather than squared off, creating a prism effect that catches and refracts light.
The technique appears in decorative windows, mirrors, and cabinet doors, where the angled edges produce rainbow-like patterns when sunlight passes through: The beveled glass in the front door scattered light across the entryway.
