beta release
Software trial phase
A beta release is a version of software made available for testing before the official launch.
It's feature-complete but may contain bugs, and users who try it—beta testers—provide feedback to help developers identify problems.
Beta follows alpha testing (internal) and precedes the final release: The app is currently in beta release.
