beach boardwalk
Coastal wooden path
A beach boardwalk is a wooden or composite walkway running parallel to a shoreline, typically elevated above the sand.
Boardwalks provide access to the beach while protecting dunes and vegetation, and often feature shops, restaurants, and amusements along their length: We strolled the boardwalk eating saltwater taffy.
The Atlantic City and Coney Island boardwalks are iconic American examples.
