bathing beauties
Poolside attractive swimmers
Bathing beauties are attractive women in swimsuits, especially as a group displayed for admiration.
The term evokes early 20th-century pageants and beach photography, when women in bathing costumes were a novelty: The resort advertised its pool with photos of bathing beauties.
The phrase sounds dated now, carrying nostalgia for a more innocent era of pinups.
