bass tab
Low-string music guide
Bass tab is a system of musical notation for bass guitar that uses numbers on horizontal lines to indicate which frets to play on which strings.
Unlike standard notation, tab doesn't require reading music—the lines represent strings, the numbers show finger positions: I learned the bassline from a tab I found online.
Tab is short for tablature.
