base jumper
Building exit parachutist
A base jumper is someone who parachutes from fixed objects rather than aircraft.
BASE is an acronym for the four categories of launch points: building, antenna, span (bridges), and earth (cliffs).
Base jumping is far more dangerous than skydiving due to lower altitudes and proximity to structures: Base jumpers leaped from the cliff at dawn.
