Amber brittle sweet
Barley-sugar is a hard candy made by boiling sugar, traditionally with a barley extract that gave it a distinctive amber color and mild flavor.
The term also describes a twisted spiral shape resembling the traditional form of these candies: barley-sugar columns on the porch, a barley-sugar twist in wrought iron.
