backhand grip
Knuckles-forward racket grasp
A backhand grip is a way of holding a racket, paddle, or club with the back of the hand facing the direction of the stroke.
In tennis and similar sports, players shift to a backhand grip when returning shots to their non-dominant side: She switched to a backhand grip as the ball came to her left.
The term also applies in table tennis and badminton, where grip adjustments happen rapidly during play.
