art books
Illustrated exhibition catalogues
Art books are books devoted to visual art—collections of reproductions, exhibition catalogs, artist monographs, or surveys of artistic movements.
They tend to be large-format volumes where images dominate over text: a coffee table covered with art books, She studied the Rothko art book for hours.
The category sometimes extends to books that are themselves artistic objects.
