antepenultimate
Before the penultimate
Antepenultimate means third from the end.
In a series of ten items, the antepenultimate is the eighth.
The word appears most often in linguistics, where the antepenultimate syllable is the one before the penultimate (second-to-last): in "antepenultimate" itself, that syllable is "ul." The antepenultimate chapter sets up the climax.
