anglicising
Adapting to English
Anglicising is the British spelling of anglicizing—making something more English in character, form, or expression.
Names get anglicised when immigrants adapt them to English pronunciation or spelling: His family anglicised their surname from Müller to Miller.
The term applies to adapting foreign words, customs, or cultural elements to fit English conventions.
