all-white jury
Monochromatic deliberating body
A jury composed entirely of white people.
The term appears almost exclusively in discussions of racial bias in the criminal justice system, particularly cases where Black defendants face trial: He was convicted by an all-white jury in 1940s Mississippi.
The phrase carries an implicit critique—that such juries may deliver less fair verdicts in cases involving race.
