airport art
Bland public murals
Airport art is mass-produced decorative work sold to tourists, typically featuring generic cultural motifs or landscapes.
The term is mildly dismissive, suggesting pieces made for commercial appeal rather than artistic merit—crafted to fit in a suitcase and hang inoffensively in a living room: The gallery was full of airport art pretending to be authentic.
