air cannons
Compressed gas blasters
Air cannons are devices that use compressed air to launch projectiles or create bursts of air.
They range from industrial equipment that clears blockages in silos and hoppers to theatrical devices producing dramatic puffs of air, confetti, or streamers.
Homemade versions are popular for launching T-shirts into stadium crowds or potatoes across fields: The mascot fired T-shirts from an air cannon into the stands.
