afternoon slump
Midday energy dip
The afternoon slump is the dip in energy and alertness that commonly hits in the early-to-mid afternoon, typically between 1 and 3 PM.
It's associated with post-lunch drowsiness, circadian rhythms, and the temptation to reach for coffee or a nap: I always hit the afternoon slump around 2 o'clock.
