accelerator pump
Enriches fuel mixture
An accelerator pump is a component in carburetors that squirts extra fuel into the engine when the throttle is opened quickly.
This prevents the engine from hesitating or stumbling during rapid acceleration, when the sudden rush of air would otherwise create a momentarily lean fuel mixture.
