academic ethics
Research conduct standards
Academic ethics are the principles governing honest conduct in educational and scholarly settings.
This includes prohibitions against plagiarism, cheating, and falsifying research data, as well as standards for proper attribution, peer review integrity, and responsible treatment of human subjects.
Violations can result in failed grades, expulsion, or retraction of published work: The university's academic ethics committee investigated the professor for fabricating experimental results.
