Winchester rifle
Cowboy's lever gun
A Winchester rifle is a lever-action repeating rifle, originally manufactured by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company in the mid-19th century.
The design allowed rapid firing without manual reloading between shots, making it iconic in the American West.
He kept his grandfather's Winchester above the fireplace.
The name now applies broadly to rifles in this style.
