Wilbur Wright
Kitty Hawk brother
Wilbur Wright was an American aviation pioneer who, with his brother Orville, designed and flew the first successful powered airplane at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, in 1903.
The brothers' systematic approach to flight—building wind tunnels, testing wing shapes, solving the problem of control—made them the fathers of modern aviation.
Wilbur handled much of the public demonstration and died of typhoid fever in 1912.
