USS Lexington
USS Lexington is the name of several United States Navy ships, most notably two aircraft carriers.
The first (CV-2) was sunk at the Battle of the Coral Sea in 1942.
The second (CV-16), commissioned that same year, served through World War II and later as a training carrier until 1991: The USS Lexington is now a museum ship in Corpus Christi.
The name honors the Revolutionary War battle.
