The Wicker Man
The Wicker Man is a large human-shaped structure made of wicker, historically associated with ancient Celtic rituals in which victims were allegedly burned inside as sacrifices.
The image gained modern currency through a 1973 British horror film of that name, where a giant wicker figure serves as an instrument of human sacrifice: They're going to burn him in the Wicker Man.
The film has become a cult classic, and references to the Wicker Man often invoke pagan ritual, folk horror, or spectacular doom.
