Temple of Heaven

Imperial worship complex

The Temple of Heaven is a complex of religious buildings in Beijing where Chinese emperors performed annual ceremonies praying for good harvests.

Built in the 15th century, its iconic circular Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests has become a symbol of Beijing itself.

Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and public park: We visited the Temple of Heaven at sunrise.
