THX
Audio quality standard
THX is a trademark for audio and video quality standards developed by Lucasfilm, known for its distinctive deep bass test tone in movie theaters: The THX logo appeared before the film started.
Equipment and venues can be THX-certified to meet specific playback standards. (Lowercase thx is informal shorthand for thanks.)
