T-tops are removable roof panels on a car, one on each side of a central bar that runs from windshield to rear window, forming a T-shape when viewed from above.
Popular on American sports cars in the 1970s and 1980s, they offered a compromise between a solid roof and a full convertible: He popped out the T-tops and hit the highway.
