delta blues
Mississippi river sound
Delta blues is a style of blues music that originated in the Mississippi Delta region in the early twentieth century.
Characterized by passionate vocals, slide guitar, and raw emotional intensity, it's considered one of the earliest and most influential forms of blues: Robert Johnson was a master of delta blues.
The style shaped much of later rock and blues music. (Capitalized Delta Blues may appear in titles or formal references to the genre.)
