Stoke-on-Trent

English pottery center

Stoke-on-Trent is a city in the English Midlands, historically the center of Britain's ceramics industry—the Potteries.

Six towns merged in 1910 to form the city: Hanley, Burslem, Tunstall, Stoke, Fenton, and Longton.

The area gave rise to Wedgwood, Spode, and Royal Doulton.

She grew up in Stoke-on-Trent, surrounded by bottle kilns and clay dust.
