Slacker

Austin indie landmark

A slacker is someone who avoids work or effort, shirking responsibilities that others expect them to fulfill.

The term gained cultural prominence in the 1990s describing aimless young people rejecting conventional ambition: He's such a slacker—he never does his share of the project.

A slacker may be genuinely lazy or simply uninterested in what's demanded of them.
