Sikkim

India's smallest state

Sikkim is a small state in northeastern India, nestled in the Himalayas between Nepal, Tibet, and Bhutan.

Once an independent Buddhist kingdom, it became India's 22nd state in 1975.

The region is known for its mountainous terrain, including views of Kangchenjunga, the world's third-highest peak: We trekked through Sikkim to see the monasteries.
