Shakespearean play
Globe Theatre production
A Shakespearean play is a dramatic work written by William Shakespeare, the English playwright whose tragedies, comedies, and histories from the late 16th and early 17th centuries remain central to Western literature and theater.
The term sometimes extends to works written in his style—blank verse, complex characters, elaborate wordplay: The dialogue had a Shakespearean quality.
His plays include *Hamlet*, *Macbeth*, *A Midsummer Night's Dream*, and *Romeo and Juliet*.
