Sancerre
Loire Valley white
Sancerre is a white wine from the Loire Valley region of eastern France, made from Sauvignon Blanc grapes.
Known for its crisp acidity and mineral character, it often carries flavors of citrus, green apple, and flint.
The name comes from the hilltop town around which the vineyards cluster.
Though red and rosé versions exist using Pinot Noir, a glass of Sancerre almost always means the white.
