Saint Jude
Desperate cases' intercessor
Saint Jude is one of the twelve apostles of Jesus, traditionally identified as Jude Thaddaeus to distinguish him from Judas Iscariot.
He became the patron saint of lost causes and desperate situations—invoked when all else has failed: She prayed to Saint Jude before the surgery.
St.
Jude Children's Research Hospital, founded in 1962, treats catastrophic childhood diseases and has made the name widely recognizable in American culture.
