sainted
Declared divinely blessed
Sainted describes someone regarded as a saint or treated with the reverence due one.
It often appears with family terms to honor the deceased: my sainted mother, my sainted grandmother.
The word can carry ironic or exasperated tones, invoking someone's memory to express disbelief: What would my sainted aunt think of this mess?
