Divided Caribbean island
Saint-Martin is a Caribbean island divided between France and the Netherlands—the French northern portion retains the name Saint-Martin, while the Dutch southern portion is Sint Maarten.
The island is known for its beaches, duty-free shopping, and the famous Maho Beach where planes pass directly overhead on approach.
