Rosamund
Old English name
Rosamund is a feminine given name of Germanic origin, meaning "horse protection" or sometimes interpreted as Latin "rosa munda" (pure rose).
The name appears in medieval legend—Fair Rosamund was the mistress of England's Henry II.
It remains in modest use, more common in Britain than America: Rosamund Pike played the lead in Gone Girl.
